Description
By the Sea is a beautiful view of the blue sea from the Amalfi coastline in Praiano, Italy. The village of Praiano is located just south of Positano, on the west coast of Italy.
The little building with the terra cotta roof houses a very small and old elevator that goes down a long elevator shaft through the cliff to an open, small beach area. Sometimes, I had to hold my breath wondering if it would stop or quit working on it's way down and back up! From that elevator is a short walk to another which takes the rider up to a hotel, or to street level.
About the image: Originally on film, I've scanned the photograph and worked on it through various filters to get back "the feeling" of what I saw when I shot the area originally - it was as colorful, bright and simply breathtaking!
