Giraffes are the tallest of all living land animals on earth and they prefer habitats where there is an abundance of acacia trees.
Its species name refers to its camel-like appearance and the patches of color on its fur. Their most distinguishing characteristics are its extremely long neck and legs, its horn-like ossicones, and its distinctive coat patterns.
Giraffes are classified under the family Giraffidae, along with its closest relative, the okapi.
Gentle Giants is an original acrylic painting of two young giraffes - honoring these beautiful, graceful creatures.
