Description
I'm thrilled that "Leafy Sea Dragons" has been used as the opener for Chapter 4 of Dr. Spencer's 3rd edition of "Our Origins" textbook.
The author, Dr. Clark Spencer Larsen, is a distinguished professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Chair - which is the department of Anthropology, at Ohio State University.
----------------------------------------
Leafy Sea Dragons are beautifully delicate and translucent with leafy appendages to help them blend and hide into their natural habitat.
During their elegant courtship ritual, they dance as if to mirror each other and females lay 100-250 eggs onto a special brood patch on the underside of the male's tail. Once the eggs hatch (live birth) the baby sea dragons are on their own and need no additional help from their parents.

Donna, congrats on the book deal. I just saw that Monterey Aquarium is having a sea horse competition. You may want to google it!
