Description
The Roman Colosseum was originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater. Construction of the Colosseum began in AD. 72 and ended in AD. 80. It was of monumental proportions with at least 80 entrances, and enough room for at least 55,000 spectators. Gladiators which were also slaves and prisoners of war, fought to the death with wild animals and each other.
