Artist's Description

The Roman Colosseum was originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre. Construction of the Colosseum began in AD. 72 and ended in AD. 80. It was of monumental proportions with at least 80 entrances, and enough room for at least 55,000 spectators. Gladiators were usually non-roman slaves and prisoners of war who fought to the death with other gladiators and wild animals.

The sold original was painted with acrylics on 20x24 framed stretched canvas.

About Donna Proctor

Donna Proctor

DONNA PROCTOR FINE ART * * * * * * * * Fine art painter who also loves to shoot photography of wild life, nature and sometimes just things ... I am inspired by the beauty I see in every day life. My work is of the moment. What it was yesterday, what it is today and what it will be tomorrow is just a marker en-route to artistic self-expression. Personal expression is a life-long journey of joy, doubt, disappointment, celebration, challenges and so... With each new painting or photograph artists always feel like they could have done more, could have done it better but that's what drives us forward and lifts us to higher levels and, the best we can do is just leave behind our own personal signatures...
