Description
A laid-back chimpanzee eating his Morning Snack!
Chimpanzees are mainly from West and Central Africa. They are endangered due to poaching and habitat destruction.
Did you know that recent DNA studies have shown that the chimpanzee is the closest living genetic relative to humans, sharing about 98% of our DNA?
Chimpanzees diets mainly consists of ripe fruit, but they will also eat flowers, young leaves, bark, seeds, resin, termites, and animal prey. Sticks and grasses are used to fish termites out of their mounds. They push the stick into the hole and the termite, biting the stick, is pulled out and eaten.
